Check Magellan have had one for 10 years still works great and am sure the newer models are even simpler to operate. wasnt too expensive either.

One thing about handheld GPS' is that everyone seems to want to get those that are accurate to within a meter!!! I have news for you, if you are within 3 meters, (10ft), you can see your objective!!!

I got Garmins, the cheap one $89 or so. I have had 2, lost them both. One I left on the roof of my truck, drove off and it fell off. I went back to find it and someone ran over it.

My other one fell in 4 feet of water when I was duck hunting Jan 2012, I'm waiting for water level to go down I'll try to go back and get it. I probably need to get me another one.. grin

I've had Garmin & Magellan - but the one I have now is the one I like the best - DELORME. You can download their topo maps which are some of the best on the market, plus you can do satellite image overlay.

Reason I like this one is bc it is touch screen, very sharp image and if hunting mountains can go down to ground level 3D view for topo and see bowls and such on ridges and other troughs running along canyons. It makes it a lot easier to know where critters are going to bed when they look like they've disappeared or appear out of nowhere. Also accepts SD card (like most should).

I have owned both Magellan and Garmin, but prefer the Garmins by far. I currently have a 60CSX and it is great and very user friendly as well. The new model is the 62CS. It should be just as good if not better.

I am on my second Garmin. The first one died after about 10 years of use and abuse. I just bought an older model but new GPSMAP 76CX off the Internet. I bought this model because it was the same size/foot print as my previous model so all my power plugs and dash mount brackets could still be used. It didn't hurt any that this unit was also color and had some additional features.

The ones for your phone are nice until you go into a area without cell service.

I have had a Garmin12 since, well as far as I remember 12 years. Still works well, and use them in both vehicles, so they get my vote
