I have already covered alot more ground this year than last year all together and I havent hardly herd a thing. I have seen 2 hens and neither one had a tom with her, you'd think as big as Ft. Hood is that there would be turkey scatered through out the training areas.
Going to try a few different area's tommorrow.

Update: It has been a blast of a week for Turkey Hunting, I have killed 3 in just a weeks time and all 3 of them I never made a call to them. It turned out to basically a spot and stalk hunt after the early morning hours of the Tom's not wanting to come in to the calling.

Some locations have more than others but, it was very hard hunting. I stuck with it for 9 days straight hunting and I think that was part of my success was being out there every morning. The first 2 Days of hunting I did not hear a thing and covered a lot of area.

Nice Job 7mm you are def a killing machine on Ft Hood.....I've been PO'd at all the rule changes and frequent land closures so I haven't even bought a license in 2 years. looks like it may be time to get another one soon.

Thanks 1fowl
Yea it can get frustraiting at times if the training area that you want to hunt on is closed for the week or even a few days. At the begining of this year they did not have the area access list posted online you either had to go to the sportsman center on Wednsdays around 2pm and pick it up or e-mail them and have them e-mail it back to you.
But I got lucky this year and the training area's that I was wanting to hunt were open for a week straight, but the first 3 days I was hunting I hunted a few different training area's that I had not been to and I was Stationed here for 6 1/2 years straight.
