I can't express the sadness I feel for your loss. Your post reminds everyone of us who have lost a hunting partner just how hard it was to let go while reminding us how we felt while we still had a chance to be with them both in the field and at home. Thank you for sharing this and I am truly sorry for your lost companion.

Jim,

I've got a Yellow Lady, her name is Rose, that is getting on in years so I am dreading this. I certainly wish you and your family the best.

Very sorry to hear this. I have read your posts for years and know that you love your dogs and treat them better than most of us on here. Your pictures of him brightened many of our days. RIP Cappy

Lost my brown dog this past fall, the exact same situation. Very tough as she was my first water dog. Sorry for your loss, RIP.

Jim,
I know for you this was more than just a dog or hunting companion. It was the loss of a family member. Cappy had a wonderful life because of you. Probably about as good as it gets. Your a good man for that. Very sorry for your family's loss sir.

There are no words that will take away the hurt in your heart and I'm sorry for your loss, but at least you can take a small measure of comfort in knowing that Cappy is no longer in pain. God Bless.

We are truly blessed to have them, but the time is way too short. I am absolutely sorry your friend's time has passed.
