I am going to have a 16" PSA FN CHF Upper next week. My next big purchase is a suppressor. I know nothing of suppressors/silencers. All I know is I want one. What kind of money am I looking at spending here. And also, my 16" carbine length will be able to shoot subsonics right?

QD 762 cans run 600ish, but then figure in 200 for ATF. So budget around 800ish for can.
Yours should cycle subs. If I was getting a can on the 300 blackout I would SBR it. 16 inch with a 308 can will be almost as heavy as a 308.
308 cans are 8 inches long on average as well.

Regardless, I could always get a SBR later and throw the same can on it. Also, I know there are a few cans that you can use for 5.56 and the 300. How much would one of those run?

You can run a 7.62 can on 5.56 but not the other way around....

Does that go for every 7.62 can or is there a certain kind?

Does that go for every 7.62 can or is there a certain kind? All of them, but getting a QD (quick disconnect) will make life much easier since thread patterns are different. QD is all I use personally. My 762 can can interchange in seconds on most of my guns, FAL, 300 precision rifle, 6.8, 308AR's, 5.56 AR's etc.

You will probably want to go with a trust to make owning the suppressor easier

You will probably want to go with a trust to make owning the suppressor easier What exactly is a trust and how do you go about it? Its easy, we offer this service. We have lawyers contracted with to make these (Chris Bass). Message me if you are interested or have any questions. Trust is THE way to go. IT smokes the CLEO signoff in every aspect. Can have beneficiaries, multiple people can share the toys, can add stuff later to it. etc.
