Here in 6 months I "should" be in the market for a UTV. I would really like it to fit in the back of my truck (3/4 ton dodge) to avoid the trailer part.
From what I have gathered, there is two brands that cater to my needs:
-Mule 610 xc -Polaris ranger 500 efi
Anyone have any experience with either or have suggestions?

This is in my 1/2 ton extended cab. You drive it up over the wheel wells. I've made 1,000 mile round trips with it.

John deere makes a great product, but they sure want a pretty penny for them. Really aiming at a 4x4 due to water/mud crossing.

Buy an old 4x4 jeep and install a hitch on the front of it for a fraction of the cost. Just a thought.

A Yamaha Rhino will fin in your bed. I am not sure but a Ranger may be too wide/long. No matter which one you got I would beef up the tailgate supports.

Ranger will fit in bed... But... Careful when going over wheel well so as not to hit back glass, short or long bed. Since I always mount tool box in bed I trailer mine.

I wouldnt call it much of a mud crossing If you haven't tried it, don't knock it. This is where we hunted my Gator this year;

We have a gator we use at the school and I have a 500 and 700 ranger. They are not close in performance. The 500 is a salty little bugger. You will love it.

How can you say the Honda will last longer when they have only been producing the Big Red UTV for a couple of years?

From the reviews via internet, not many folks like the transmission on the big red MUV.

Because you can't go wrong with a honda. And I think they did have problems with their first models, but they fixed it because mine has been rode hard and I've never had any problems out of it. Honda may not be the nicest looking, or have all the features as the others, but they build their stuff to last.
