We headed out yesterday after my boys baseball game. We saw a few and one big gobbler but my boy didn't feel comfortable with the shot so he passed. This morning we had two groups moving into our area, each with a stud gobbler in tow. My boy was able to put the hammer down on one of them. He was pumped as was I. Ended up having an 8" beard.

Good job to your son. Passing on the shot when it is not right then smoking the bird when it is. Sounds like some good coaching from a proud Papa also  to you both

Thanks everyone. Turkeys have always seemed to win in his quest for the one over the last few seasons. This season the tide has changed for him. We have a great time when the boys hit the field together.
