Anyone get their CHL recently?

Was curious how long a wait there is currently, or rather, is there a backlog?

I hope he was joking. unless my ffl was my brother, i'd be worried about a comment like that.

Probably 3-4 weeks at the most. The waits are not as long as they were now that almost everything is electronic.

Took renewal class on the 28 of Feb. Paperwork done on line.
Haven't heard a thing. Of course the DPS said they were going to try to use prints/picture they had so as they are with ink/Polaroid may slow the process down some, will see.

I took my renewal on Feb 28 also and did the online paperwork. I checked status today to find they are waiting on printed materials ?

maybe what county you're in can make a difference but i was suprised how fast it was for me. I'm sure it can change based on the number of app's they are getting too.

I took the class in November, a buddy and I mailed them in the exact same time, at the same post office, he had his in 2 weeks, mine took a month. So I think that it is just a matter of how they feel at the time of submission.

Took my class Feb. 11th. Did application online that same night. Got fingerprints and photos done in next couple days. Mailed everything on Feb. 15th. Still waiting.... They received everything but it is still reviewing background.

Hopefully it won't be too much longer. up

Well I did make the active part of DPS board, doing the background check as of now, then print and mail the renewal lic. Going to be 5 to 6 weeks looks like. Must of been a small backlog of applications.

Buddy of mine just got his (about 6 weeks). I turned mine in about a month ago and still waiting on background.

With the fingerprints being done electronically now you would think it would be quick and easy but it's not. Another buddy of mine took his and had regular prints done before it switched to the electronic ones and it was 3-4 weeks and he had his license.

I think they just do what they want when they want. Hope it's not much longer for myself and the rest of y'all smile

Not to bring up an old thread. My renewal is in the mail as of today.

Going to be about 4 1/2 weeks from taking course, mailing, process and mail back to my house. Not bad.

I did my renewal online last fall. It was taking a ridiculous amount of time. I forgot the online message, but it was lame. Finally I called. They checked the computer and told me that they had no idea why it had not already been processed. The guy actually said that I must have gotten lost somehow. That is no joke. He then said to expect it in the mail soon. It arrived within about a week.
