So on a catfish that size, do you have to do anything different to prepare them for the table? I mean do you have to bleed them out or maybe hold them for a period of time before you clean them? I need to know in case I ever catch one that big. grill

Just cut him up in fish fingers and put it in the fry pan... the flatheads are the ones you want to eat that size

I sure hope we are not gettin all "CPR" on the THF now... it is what drives me away from the TFF.
I posted right behind a couple of your post this a.m. Your all over the tff, but don't worry we're usually on the same side of the argument. CPR is good unless your fishing for food, I love eating fish. I posted some jug line cats on there and was nearly crucified.

The THF is starting to get too slow, I cant go on and on about the mindless bable that goes around in the off season all the time, I check back in, but not like during pre season and season. within the past week or so I have been venturing back ver there grin

\X 2. A commercial fisherman on the Trinity in Riverside told me that the best thing to do with the big ones is skin and chill. Take a sharp knife and slice the groove of fat out, slice it into fingers and quick fry.

Its has never let me down.

Dang nice fish. I crossed the Colorado Monday going to visit my Dad and it was foaming. When I lived there, we loved the rises this time of year. Always put a lot of fish in the freezer and you never know whats going to be on the next line.

No baited holes. We use cut bait. Perch, carp, whatever trash fish we can get our hands on.
