Can y'all recommend any good authors on hunting? I read/have read Peter Capstick, Jim Corbett, Saxton Pope, and Colonel John H. Patterson. Are these good?

Robert Ruark, Craig Boddington, Elmer Keith, Ernest Hemingway and Gene Hill are some good ones. Find hunting books at safaripress.com.

All the ones mentioned are good, for a shooting aspect of hunting Wayne van Zwoll and Jack O'Connor are two more good ones.

WDM Bell, look at any of the authors from back in the day of Ruark and there are stories of hunts when it was a way of life not a commercial venture!Read the book A Man Called Lion.Great reading but if you read between the lines in the authors books you will question his sexual orientation!

Brayden (Lazy L's Southern Comfort) you will be missed! You were more than a pet you were my reason to rise and return for many days! You were my rock!

Patrick McManus is great. His books, Never Sniff a Gift Fish, The Grasshopper Trap and They Shoot Canoes Don't They are some of my favorites.

In addition to the ones you have mentioned how about:
Sir Alfred Pease, John "Pondoro" Taylor, F.C. Selous, and Denis Lyell. These are mainly writers of early African hunting but they are a good read.

loved that book.

also, craig boddington is great.

John wooters and Jim Carmicheal are my favorites.

I had a handwritten letter(wish I kept it) from Jim Carmicheal that he wrote in response to a question that I asked him.

For it is not the quarry that we truly seek, but the adventure.

I think most of the really goods ones have been listed above, I like to read the really old british authors, 1600-1800s just because they are written more like police reports than novels, but that is just me.....

I'm with Skeeter on Gene Hill, he was great. C.J. Box has written a series of books about a Wyoming game warden that are really good.

Dude your 12, nothing you've done happened a long time. I'm a fan of Elmer Keith, Capstick, but also like old traditional archery books, seems those writers just have a different view.
