Squirrel season is not open in Harris county. Is it against the law to trap and move the squirrels that are starting to terrorize my garden? My dog is about worn out but doing his best to keep them run out.

Are you inside city limits? If so many citys will have traps they loan out to residents needing to relocated nusance squirrels. Typically run by the animal control dept.

To be sure of hitting the target, shoot first and call whatever you hit the target.

I'm in the city limits and have my own live traps. I just don't want to get in trouble for having a squirrel in my possession. That would suck. lol...

You are wasting your time trying to relocate squirrels. That's the equivalent to relocating head-lice. So you move a few, there are MILLIONS more waiting to move in.

We have a neighbor that does not feed their cat... ever. This cat is a master at catching, killing, and eating squirrels. I can't count how many I have witnessed him eating, but there are still more squirrels than can be counted every evening playing in the cats own yard.

You can't poison because if the squirrels run off to die, they may be eaten by other animals such as cats, or dogs, or even hawks. Yes, I actually have red tailed hawks in my yard frequently, and have owls living in a tree in my yard.

I'd say feed them enough food somewhere else that they don't have to go to your garden to get it. Set up a bird feeder, fill it with sunflower seeds and enjoy watching the crafty little dudes.

A hog is nothing more than a bullet receptacle.

Thanks. I talked to my feed store guy and he's letting me borrow some cages and an extra trap. He's going to take them to his property. I would have taken them to mine but I have fox squirrels and these are grey squirrels. The pushed all the fox squirrels out of here already.
