and the gut waanted $3000 for but said only 300 were made but
my # proves that wrong.

Unless they have really gone up in the past 5 years, it sounds extremely over priced.

There were over 5000 made, the action as I understand is an Interarms Mark-X (commercial Mauser) good shooters but do not think there is much of a collectors market for them 2cents

lf the saying "Liar, Liar your pants on fire" were true
Mainstream news might be fun to watch

Interarms Mark X rifles are for the most part "gunsmith specials" and run the gamut from exceptional to really poorly done. To your rifle in particular:

It is a commercial mauser action imported by Interarms. It was imported as a barreled action and manufactured by Whitworth (England) or Zavasta (Yugoslavia). Since it is a 30.06 - probably Zavasta. (take off the stock and look around the trigger).

P.O. Ackley ran a gun shop in Salt Lake City UT and re-reamed the barrels to AI specs (Ackley Improved) and usually put on a nice stock and scope.

EMDECKO was marketing company that sold everything from vacuum cleaner to drills, etc. (kinda like Harbor Freight today).
All in all, a nice rifle, but not worth a whole lot.
