I am going to Africa in May and I am looking for a taxidermist to handle the taxidermy for four or five animals. I need someone who can also handle the import of the animals from the outfitter and shoulder mount one or two of them. The rest I plan on just doing a skull mount.

Woodburys in Ingram, Rhodes Brothers in Kerrville,Damuth in Brady, Brush Country in Houston or B&B in Houston are the ones that I know that do great work. All can handle the importing also. I am sure there are more in DFW area that I do not know of.

For once BMD and I agree on something! DON'T! USE FLAGG Their work is just average, but your African mounts are going to be something to cherish, so I would recommend using a much better place like Texas Wildlife Taxidermy in Keller.

I can do it. If you look on this forum you will see many examples of my African work. I was the exclusive taxidermist for the 777 ranch and Rann Safaris Botswana for the last three years. I left Texas however and live in Idaho now. I crated and shipped 80% of my work while at the 777 so shipping is not a problem. I have things in place to get your animals through customs.

My opinion on Flagg is same as it has always been, their work is horrible and gets even worse depending on which jack wagon does the work, as it is luck of draw which one does your work or if you more than one piece no telling how many different guys will work on your mounts.

I just got back from Africa, I decided to use Billington Ranch. Evelyn and Mike have been good to deal with. My stuff won't be here till November or so. The taxidermist in Africa is who will ship your stuff here. You just need to get them all the appropriate addresses.

Ben at tri-state taxidermy in houston is top notch and all his works are just pieces of art. Every time I'm in Houston I try and stop by and check out his new work. And he's an annual African hunter for about 12 years.

Aaron aka texaswildlife can handle this and he is a THF member. I looked at some of the african mounts at his shop and they are amazing.

American Taxidermy in Terrell. He had some other african stuff as well...he also goes to New Zealand every year to get a Red Stag...super nice guy and really nice mounts IMO.
