Another old one from the collection. This is a Model 1896 Krag Carbine. This one is actually dated 1895 and so was made before odoption of the official designation of Model 1896 Carbine. I have a letter on it. It was sold to the public by the Raritan Arsenal, Metuchen, NJ, between July 15 and July 31st, 1922 for the princely sum of $5. I was disappointed that there was no other known provenance such as a Rough Rider Carbine, but oh the stories I am sure it would tell if it could.

Stevens junior 22. 1907 I think. I believe my oldest is also vintage 1907. Winchester M92 carbine in 25-20.....bought by my great-grandfather and passed down through the generations.

I had an 1893 Mosin but sold it recently. I have an 1895 Mosin but it's boxed up waiting on the money order to arrive.
I have a Forehand & Wadsworth DA revolver. It doesn't have a serial number but the last year they used the grips on it was 1898.

7x57 Chilian Mauser the ink stamp on the stock says 1895. Shoots great, long and heavy but really sweet.

My oldest is a Stevens 325-C .30-30. It was my grandmother's hunting rifle and was made between 1947 and 1950. My next oldest is a Remington Speedmaster 550-1 .22 that was my dad's first gun, made in 1959.

Oldest is an 1850's Belgian made pinfire shotgun 16ga SxS. I don't know the exact date, but with the proof marks and barrel stampings that's the closest I can come to. I even have some old pinfire hulls which were never loaded.

The oldest I still have are my father's Mod 11 Remington 20gauge he purchased when he got back from the first WW...and a Mod 11 12 ga. w/safety in the front of the trigger guard that I bought..both are not too far from a 100, and both still function perfectly...The 20's bbl is a little thin because he used to shoot 2 cases, not flats, of shells min. every year...and that included black powder..he also cleaned it regularly..I traded my grandpa's Rem Rolling Block 16 to the Western Auto guy in Liberty when I was a kid for some cap pistols...Gramps blew off his fingers dbl loading it to shoot a hawk...DD

Early 50's Browning light twelve my grandfather bought new, still shoots perfect. 1969 parker hale 30-06 and an early 70's Rem 700 22-250 my grand father also bought new and hardly ever shot them. Neither one of them have any handling marks or a ding in the wood anywhere.

I've got a Belgium made 1880's circa 12ga SxS with external hammers. Bought it from a guy whose great grandfather was the original owner. Said the gun had been used on everything from "Cowboys and Indians to Bucks and Ducks". Was actually miffed at him for selling it rather than keeping it in the family, but I guess some folks have no sentimental value. Looks great hanging on my wall.
Also have a 1917 Model Stevens .22 that was owned by my grandpa. Can guarantee it will never leave the family.
Oldest gun that still gets used is a 1949 Savage Model 99 in .300 Savage. Was my wifes grandfathers elk gun, and it still get’s taken pig and deer hunting on a regular basis.

Sometimes it's hard being me! But somebody has to do it.

I have a Winchester Model 1873 in 32 WCF that I am trying to find out more about. I need to get around to researching the serial number to see if I can get an idea of when it may have been produced.
