Wow, someone asks if Ive been there, I give the report and you jump my case? Well since you weren't there, let me explain it to you.

The guys paid $2500 to hunt there and were under the impression that they would have an honest chance at bucks in the 120-140 inch range. Further we were shooting an episode of Alan's television show(Chevy Sportsman I think it was called).

Due to the recent storm, the ground was literally covered with acorns, virtually no deer were coming to the feeders. As this ranch had just opened up to bow hunters, Alan really wanted to get some deer shot on camera for promotional purposes.

So, since no one, except me who shot a doe, had killed anything by the 4th day of a 5 day hunt, we were told to shoot any buck that had eight points. Now remember, 12 guys sitting twice a day(some all day) had not SEEN a shootable buck in range. The ranch rules were 8 points or better and a 15 inch or better spread.

I should also mention that 8 of us flew down from Michigan and 4 came down from Reno. The total cost of the hunt including travel and out of state licenses was in the $3,500 range per guy. None of us was sponsored on the hunt and 90% were $30,000 a year working stiffs. So two of the guys shot small 80" deer.

There was another sponsor there, an attractant called "BuckGrub", I don't know if its still around or not anymore. But they needed footage of deer eating the attractant and subsequently some being taken.

By shooting "something" the episode was completed as a promotional episode for Oneida bows, BuckGrub and Alan's show at the time.

Ive had no further dealings with the ranch, nor Alan and all I did was give some guy some first hand knowledge of the ranch.

But hey, its the internet, you can attack anyone for any reason. However when you do that, people get a pretty good idea of your character.

rofl Buddy, I don't make a habit of spending time coming up with a way to be an Internet tough guy. You make yourself look like a big enough dip---- that it would be futile to try to make you look worse.

Enjoy the site up
