Either way, catching them is the quickest way to find that out.

Yep, that has crossed my mind for sure especially since the previous owner owned it for 60 years. I put my number on the No trespassing sign so they have the opportunity to call me if they are in question.

You stated that you found 5-9mm casings in front of one of the cameras. From the pictures that are posted, I don't see anyone carrying a gun (shotgun / rifle) like they would be pouching. But these guys are all dressed in camo so they are all trying to conceal them self’s.
Just a thought but do you think they could be growing pot on your land?

I agree with one of the above posts. Make up some posters and offer cash reward for information that leads to an arrest. Gas Stations, Schools, fast food places, grocery stores, feed stores, hardware stores, movie theaters, bowling alley's, gun shops, and closest Academy store would be all great places to start posting them. They are someone's kids, friends, or relatives, and someone will identify if they know there's cash involved.

I also agree with what someone said about talking to the secretary at the local high school. They do look young and if they don't care about rules/laws chances are there's a Principal of a local High School that know's all of there names. Probably regulars in his/her office. (Not that there's anything wrong with that, ha!!)

These guys keep using the same trail. Going back down the trail, where does the trail lead? Is it the county road? If so can you place your cameras so that you can get pictures of their vehicle and vehicle L/plates? If placing the cameras in this location works I would adjust it to take 3 pictures every min or even on Video. These guys are coming onto your property during daylight so a flash is not needed. Place electrical tape over the flash so the cameras will not be noticed form the road.

Did you send these pics to the local game warden? I know most of these SE OK game wardens and if they have pictures they usually will investigate. Check with locals and local law enforcement and show them the pics. They may know who these people are.

yep, I sent them to the GW as well as the Sheriffs department. One side borders a county rd while the other 3 are land. I "think" they are walking across my neighbors, getting in mine and coming down the trail where I have the pics and then leaving out the county rd. I have a suspicion it is my neighbors down the rd but I haven't had the time to drop by and have a chat with them as I am building a cabin up there and it is taking my time. I bought another camera today (5th) and am going to put it on one of the main trails and move my others to a slightly different area to see if they are going around them now that they know where they are. Like I said, the previous owner had the land for 60 years and still owns the 500 acres across the road from me. he says he never leased it out for hunting but I know people have hunted as I found a tree stand that was probably 20 years old and hasn't been used in that long. My guess is these guys have just had free rein as the previous owner lives in Austin and from what I gather never went up there.

Interesting read and I hope they are caught and prosecuted. Keep the forum informed of your pursuit of these poachers/trespassers.

Yeah, or they are just that stupid to not realize they are game cameras. I can't fathom the thought of a hunter not knowing this but I guess it is possible.

They're not hunters... they're poachers big difference

UPDATE:

I went out this weekend and checked the cameras, 2 they have seen and 4 they have not and didn't have any pictures of them. They could be skirting the cameras or just were not there this past week. I moved the cameras they saw to different travel paths and put a few more cameras out as well. Like I said, it is only 80 acres but it is EXTREMELY thick and impassable if you aren't on a trail so those are now all covered up by cameras. I posted on a local forum so hopefully someone recognized them and said something to them.

I'd bet you have a local country newspaper..Rent some add space and print a wanted poster...I remember having to hunt to eat when
I was young and first married..many yrs. ago..but also, there were no leases in my part of East Texas and I was kin to the guys
where I hunted, or it was a National Forest..Nowadays, seems these folks can afford a lot of extras, camo clothes ect..but at
least they haven't been destructive and taken or torn up your place...Most are more concerned with a law suit now from a trespasser than the act..Good luck...may just be young and dumb..

UPDATE:

Was up today doing some more work and checked the newly added cameras. The Perps have not been seen on the cameras so hopefully they got the picture, no pun intended or someone recognized them from one of the forums and told them they were being watched. I'll update as time goes on but hopefully they got the point.
