Have 265 in my 10' hybrid layout boat. And I can run up to an 80lb motor

About to start building two deep water style layout boats for the coast. I can easily build two for the cost of one

Dave we have to go to the new spot I found. If we go during the week it will just be our crew. We can rent that house for $100 a night. Me you G Mark Taylor. I got a boat that will hold 4 if we get another boat were gold. We can just pull up to any old blind and hunt away. The one I found is on concrete sand and there is a cove to park the boat right behind it. We had redheads coming in while I was throwing decoys.

Actually I just designed it...a friend of mine thats 84 made it, I then re-worked some of the glass on it. Still have some more rigging to do on it.

This summer I'm redoing my stubble straps, redoing doors, adding 12volt elect to it.

I hope to have enough structural foam to start my coast layout boats here shortly

operating on the its public mentality you could always just climb up in the blind you built with the other people and hunt away. Since its public use it to your advantage. If there's not room in the blind just tie up to the outside and hunt the "public" spread that is sitting outside of the "public" blind you just tied up too. Or you could tell them looks like I'm here to take down this public blind i spent the money, time, and effort to build this morning. Sorry fellas!

Gotta say I hunt public and last year I hunted solo sometimes and with my brother other times. We found a sweet spot and hunted it a few times with no blind. I come back one week and there a 2 big blinds built. Um ok. So I got there early and used it. Sure enough about 30 min b4 2 guys come along. Hey you found the blind I built. Yep! You gonna use it? Yep! Ok well we'll set up around the way. Nice guys no confrontation. Only problem was they over hunted it and pushed the birds out.

Wrong! If they have established a spot to hunt and you are an unwelcomed party at that point, if you remain at the site you are in fact in violation of law. The arrest title is hunter harassment. Established to stop the anti hunters from jacking with hunters as they hunt, it caries over to other hunters jacking with other hunters.

Wrong? I dont agree at all...How can some one prove they "established" a spot? They cant do it! Its public thus its public....duh! Its not a issue of ethics or right and wrong. Thanks for your "law" opinion WAL1809 but try proving to a game warden or sheriff or anyone that they should write a ticket on it. impossible!

I agree with the huntr harrassment part but my question is where is the line drawn. If you are hunting in a spot and a jet ski is doing donuts in your spread, its harassment. If a bass boat trolls through your spread fishing what is that considered? How far away does another hunter HAVE to be to not be considered as harassing?

Did you seriously type Duh? When you figure out who your talking to then get back to me. After 23 years of law enforcement, 5 years in a forensic crime scene unit, countless days of tesimony in state and federal trials, I think I can figure out if it is legal or illegal and what I can prove or not prove.

It sounds like first possession wins. What about if they set up in a way that they are not in the "same" spot but essentially within 100 yards of your spot, essentially cutting you off from the flight of approaching ducks and setting up so close to you that they prohibit your ability to hunt safely. I had people set up so close to me that their shot was flying past me after they shot at the duck.

I am sure it would be up to the interpretation of the officer / game warden on the scene but wanted to see if that would apply.

WAL1809...first thing...what you can prove? No, its what a law enforcement agent would have to prove in order to give a ticket, but that doesnt matter. Its real life situations out there and some one that "owns" a blind cant just verbially claim it to be theres and do what they want...just calm down and admit you cant prove who owns a blind! its a fact and i win...and ya i typed duh....say duh in "court"...i dare you!

So if someone beats you to your spot you setup right next to them?

Well to answer your your question or statement, I guess. An officer does not have to prove a case to file a case. I don't have enough time to type up reasonable suspicioun/ probable cause and so on. The post I made was answering the question of what would one do if at a blind location and someone pulled up/ walked up and refused to allow you to hunt. Would I arrest for that, no. I would attempt to find out and if I could determine who was wrong I would merely ask them to leave. It is a violation of law to harass another hunter. It is an arrestable offense. To stand there and tell a gw you csn not arrest me because you can't prove it is probably not the best or smartest thing to do. The right thing to do is find another spot and be respectful of others that have to live on this planet.
