Hey guys I have this almost 8 month old yellow lab who wont pick up a bumper anymore. When he was about 5 months he had this shoulder disorder and before that he was all about retreiving and now that he is finally better I bring him out to work with him he will just run up to to if and eitheir pick it up and bring it 5 feet or just look at it and run back to me, any help would be much appreciated!

im gonna take alot of heat for this but its because he is a yellow. Thats what i learned on here LOL

Over all the pup probably needs to be force fetched, in the mean time to build desire back, you can try more enticing things such as small birds, flapping pigeons, etc

Try a squeaky toy or paint roller. Get him excited. Make a fool out of yourself getting him jacked up.

Good luck,, He'll be fine just try everyday.

Agreed. Just say something like pupupup in a really excited voice. My lab goes nuts when I do that with fun bumpers.

I used a tennis ball and they went absolutely nuts chasing that ball around. I would bounce the ball and away they go..... bolt
