What happened to that best catfish thread? I can't find it..

I just tried Catfish Cove on Beltline where Sunnyvale Mesquite and Garland meet (not sure which city it is technically in) and it was really good. They have all you can eat fillets, whole fish, and nuggets. And their hushpuppies are great too.

Go to Dave's in Cedar Hill on Monday night. Delicious. Used to be Rockfish years ago.

AJ's at Lake Fork hands down.

A+ for Hushpuppies. It's a great place. I love to stop there and pickup fish for one of my clients nearby.

Another good place is the New Baden General Store near Franklin in Robertson County.

Catfish Junction in Broaddus. Right across the 147 bridge on Lake Sam Rayburn.

Around here it's either Catfish Corner or Deutschlander Garden in Buffalo Gap.

Dudley's in Longview has some fine cats. I like their crawfish dinners, too...(different topic)

Aw man I miss that place. Our offices used to be at Custer and George Bush so we ate there all the time. Now we are off of parker and the tollway - Fish Shack is too far and there isn't ANYTHING like it near there

Earl..Stans opened a place on the NW corner of Parker and Toll in the strip center behind Whiskey Cake..They have some pretty good catfish..I ask for it crispy....I also have a hole in the wall at Old denton and Frankford NW corner in the strip center called Catfish House...They finally couple months ago went up on their prices but their shrimp and catfish are excellent...

Also A LOT of the places mentioned in this thread are serving Basa instead of catfish now because of prices..There is a distinct diff in taste as well..Basa are vegetarians and come from either Thailand or Viet Nam...

Hands down the best fried catfish I have ever had is Fat Cats in Amarillo. They have two locations and I think their catfish is delivered swimming each day. It does take a while to get your food but there is a warning on the menu reminding you that your not at Long John Silvers and the wait.

Thanks Easton I will check that place out. That poor corner (if it's where I think it is) has been alot of resteraunts over the years. I ate there several times when it was a cajun resteraunt.

Yeah its tucked on the end of that strip down from Krogers..They do a pretty good business and have a good happy hr..The Bartenders are easy on the eyes too..LOL
