maybe their thinking was quanity of rounds over quality of shots. I agree its a waste. Use the money and invest in optics or better equipment. I can still pull the trigger pretty dang fast if i need to.

They've been able to get them to run on the S&W M&P 15-22, but you have to lighten the trigger, and I think you have to run mini mags. Polymer gun, so it is pretty light. I don't think it will work with a .22lr dedicated upper or conversion bolt though.

I bought one just for the heck of it. I was skeptical as to whether or not it actually worked. It does. Wasted 400 rnds in about an hour the first time out. lol

Had a Colt commando full auto. It was fun for about a month and sold it. Everyone wants to shoot em and never feed or clean em!
