In the second and third pic that is only part of the birds. Thats where they were thickest but there are some more birds (500 or so) just to the left that didnt make it to the pic. In the second pic you can see the Pintails stacked along the levee.

Me too, they are awesome birds. Check this guy out. Really light colored. feet were almost white, with a pinkish tint.
