As some of you may know my boys and I went on a Javelina hunt the weekend before last and my son really wanted a euro mount. I really don't have a place locally that I trust so I was thinking about doing it myself or sending it off to be done. I've always wanted to try it myself but I was worried that I would ruin his trophy. Last night I figured I would give it a try on the one I shot first and if it got ruined then I would send his off. I was amazed at how easy (yet stinky) it really was. It took me a total of 3-3 1/2 hrs to get it to this point after I got home from work and that included skinning the head. I was lucky enough to have the THF for a few pointers and luckily my wife just got her cosmetology license so the chemicals are already in her bag of goodies. It still has some work to be done to it (few very small areas with flesh) but once I get it done I think I'll do his as well and send it off to get camo dipped. What do y'all think?

looks good, could stand to be degreased Must be degreased. Hogs, Javis, bears are all extremely greasy. It will need a good degreasing. Even though it may not look greasy now,.. it will if you don't do it. I don't deal with the camo dipping so don't know if the grease will efect the ability of the dip to stick, but as with anything and grease, I would expect it would. Looks good so far. Comments and suggestions are appreciated! I'm still not finished with the skull. I stopped last night and on my way out the door I snapped these pics to show y'all. I need to remove a small amount of flesh still clinging on, degrease it and whiten the skull. Heck, the teeth still haven't fallen out yet so I still have some work to do. I've been told a good amount of dawn soap and water or ammonia soaked for a few days will help degrease it. Then I'll raid my wifes cosmetology kit for the whitening chemicals. The hardest and most important part of any project is the details at the end so i'm trying to get it right and any suggestions are of great help and appreciated!
