Are there any free range exotics in the area?

A little bit of everything depending where you are at.

Fallow and Black Buck and Axis along the river. Even some elk in some spots. Lots of aoudad and wild sheep/goats just depends on location.

They also have LOTS of 2 legged exotics! Be very careful hunting around Comstock. Hunted about 5 miles north of Comstock several years ago and there was LOTS of illegal traffic thru the property. We stayed one season and left. Had a hard time keeping the doors on our travel trailers when we were not there.

Mostly you are gonna find exotics along the Devil's or the Pecos rivers. On the south end of the Devil's around Slaughter Bend it will be mostly Corsican, Texas Dall, diluted Mouflon that move up and down the river. Auodad in that area is mostly on the east side of the river for some reason.
