I recently bought 500 rounds of some Wolf and I finally got to shoot some today, well my AR-10 does NOT like it. had 1 misfire and several failure to go to battery to the point where I almost couldnt get the bolt back to clear it. so my question is, I should be able to pull the bullets and powder and put them in my brass and be fine right?

Bullets yes, powder I wouldn't mess with but if you can accurately weigh the powder charges in a case or two load them back at your own risk.

If it is NOT a compressed load. Fill one of your brass case and a Wolfe Case with water and see what the difference is. Figuring pressure difference due to case volume.

Wolf is not the best when it comes to quality powder, primers, and brass used. So, if you recycle the powder, you still have crappy, dirty powder, which a large powder difference between cases. I would sell, get rid of, or shoot what you haven't used, and start from scratch with good brass, powder and primers. The bullet is optional.

Every Steel Wolf round I've torn apart has a surprising tiny amount of powder in it.
Shockingly so. I wouldn't jack with it personally.
I'd sell the ammot to somebody that could shoot it...or do a trade so you can end up with something you can shoot.
What rifle are you shooting it out of?

AR-10, I have done pulled them out of the boxes and they are all on stripper clips. so in instead of selling it I think i will pull the bullets, find a load for 150gr. FMJ and load with my brass and powder that way I know what I have. what is the best way to dispose of the other powder? gives me more practice reloading!

Sprinkle the powder in your garden/flower bed. It makes great fertilizer.
Hideandseek....as a teenager in the 70's I used to roam the whole area NE of Mexia and SE of Wortham chasing Dad's and his friends' coyote hounds. Great times and memories.

Only thing Wolf makes I have had any luck with is their primers and rimfire ammo. Their 22s are great.

At least 1 out of every hundred Wolf primers fails, in my experience, often more than that. Won't ever buy them again. CCI, Fed, Rem or Win from here on out.

Other than being dirty, I've never had a problem with Wolf ammo and have fired literally thousands of rounds out of a Chinese SKS. Have a few hundred primers in the shop that haven't been tried yet, but don't anticipate any problems based on past experience.

OK, my collet bullet puller came in today, so I decided to pull a few. Wolf's crimping is definately not consistant. some of the bullets have an indented ring on them from the crimp. so my question is, is it safe to use the ones that are indented?

Besides accuracy nothing should suffer from the marks and I doubt it will affect it enough to notice since I doubt it will be very good to start with.
