Alright guys I read Wal1809's post and it got me thinking. How many decoys do you have? How many do you actively hunt with? What brands do yo prefer!? Weighted or Unweighted. Who makes the best full body? I personally rebuilt my spread this year at christmas. Adding the large scale Windsock Snowgoose spread in Aug. So far GHG In my opinion makes the best Decoy on the mark. Post up a pic of your Deeks and give us your input! I got these tanglefree sprigs as well but I'm not impressed with their paint adhesion. Does anyone give their decoys a clear coat to help with the paint?

Galvhunter I was just going to ask you what brand pintails those are, but you answered my question. That sucks about the paint not sticking. There really is no way I can join this thread and post pics of all my decoys. I can post the duck but if your talking about goose decoys, oh heck no. It would take me hours to lay all that out. I am guessing well over 1000 shells, 600 sillosocks and who knkows how many texas rags.

GHG floaters aren't bad at all. They are very realistic and the paint keeps up better than most. The full bodies have not been good to me. The paint on my full body mallards chipped off first hunt, and that was wrapping them back up and being careful.

G&H dekes are the longest lasting made.

I use both.

I have 12 dozen flambeua water keel (mallard, pintail and teal). Rarely use more than 3 dozen but they look so pretty hanging in the garage that I can't make myself get rid of any.

Anybody repaint their own deeks? My wife is a painter and I am going to have her repaint mine, anyone else do this or not worth it? MY hunting buddy is also an artist so he will paint some too.

Are those coot deeks, Mr. Robertson?

Yes one dozen. When Texoma has coots you beter have some coot decoys. Everyduck on the lake will go right to the coots.

Thanks Larry, Yep Im missing it. You cant count all the ducks on the lake right now. The water is up and every grass patch has ducks. Here is the take from that Bluebird north wind day.

I'll take picutres of the bagged shells. It is retarded for me to keep that many of somehting I don't even use anymore. To put out that many shells would take an army of teenagers and my nephews don't goose hunt. I have put some serious thought into hiring a local person and training him how to put out the spread. Then finding the geese, telling him where to put the spread and paying him to put it out and stay with the decoys until I arrive with the hunters. Each hunter coughs up $25 which would add up to $150 or more. Then when we are done we leave and he packs it all up. I got a kid that works for me at the place and he would do it in a minute. I just don't know if he is savvy enough to put it out exactly as I want it put out. I might give it a swing next year and see how it goes.

No pictures of the arsenal- But...

3 dozen G&H oversize mallards
1 dozed GHG oversize pintail
1/2 doz GHG wigeon
1 dozen GHG GWTE decoys
Plus 1 dozen random decoys I have found over the years.

I always use the teal, wigeon, pintail, and usually half the mallards. Or just a pair-depending on my mood.

Goose:
5: "747" G&H goose shells
2 dozen bigfoot silhouettes
4 bigfoot full bodies
2 dozen GHG lesser canada shells
6 goose floaters (dont remember brand)
100 texas rags

I do have a question though: Since I am moving from California in a couple months- do you think the lesser decoys would even be worth bringing? Or should I sell them and get snow/speck decoys once I get to Texas?

Bring them. We have a whole lot of lesser canada geese.

You need to go to the panhandle with me so we can use the shells you sold me. I am absolutely convinced those shells are what turned the mallards into our spread. Well that and my superior calling ablities loco
