I realize this isn't the right forum but I don't see a gun smithing forum on THF so thought I would ask here because the Classifieds get so much traffic. My old laser bore sighter bit the dust and I need a replacement. I'm looking for recommendation as to what is a good reasonably priced laser type bore sighter and where can I get it. Thanks for any suggestions.

I saw some at Cabelas in Buda the other day when I was there
Bartender, bring me anything except brake fluid, cause I don't plan on stopping!

I highly recommend the Laserlyte system. I am extremely happy with how it has performed. I believe you can get them at most sporting goods stores and even Walmart.

I had the Laserlyte system and was happy with it. But I can't seem to find one locally. Local Walmart, Academy and Gander Mountain didn't have one. Actually didn't have any bore sighters. So I thought I'd look for something different.

Personally I would skip the laser type and go with the Luepold bore sighter..
You don't have to stick nothing in your barrel (like the old spud type) or have various adapters.. I keep mine in my range box, and you don't have to worry about it breaking..
I bought mine 5 to 10 years ago when they first came out, and am getting ready to get the new one because I like their old one so much..
And to keep this in the spirit of the classified adds, mine is for sale for $2000.00.. (yeah I know it's high, but look I'd only have to sell one <VBG>)..
If you want though, and you pay shipping and promise to send it back, I'll send you mine to try..
Good luck with decision, what ever it may be.. flk k

The cheapest bore sighter I use is my naked eye looking through the bore! If you pull the bolt, you can see straight through the bore and center up the target in the barrel, and move the cross hairs to the target. I can get a rifle sighted in in 1 shot- yes, 1 shot.

Perfect everytime.......... I have the Redhead one from BP and it works very well.
