I know the answer to this question is "whatever patterns best through the gun you intend to use"; however in spirit of conversation - what shotgun ammunition choices do you use and swear by for turkeys? We can extend it further, what choke is the round put through?

I have used Nitro's for as long as I can remember in both my SP-10 and Supermag. Both have Jellyhead chokes. I will be patterning the new Mag blends from Hevi-Shot. If they can equal the Nitro's, I may be switching. http://www.nitrocompany.com/

Last few years Remington HD #6 3.5 inch through a JellyHead choke. That is the exact shell and choke combo I use. I used to use the Rem. Hevi shot magnums, but they stopped making them about 4 or 5 years ago. I tried the HD's and they patterned better than any other shell in my gun, including hevi 13's, X-tend's and the hevi shot magnum blend. The Wingmaster HD is a turkey killing load.

Hevi-Shot #6, 3.5in through a Rhino choke. Can't beat it. Had used Win Supreme #5s, but Hevi-Shot made a huge difference.

Winchester 3 in #4 or #6 copper plated shot. The copper plating protects against barrel deformation that occurs to plain lead shot which makes a tighter pattern.

I agree with the Heavy shot. I was really impressed last year with the Blend 5,6,7 out of my Encore. This year I am going to pattern the Heavy Magnum Blend 5,6,7 out of my new 870 with a .665 Jellyhead choke.
I switched to a pump this year cause I couldn't get the dang shell out of my pocket to reload my Encore under the pressure of a Gobbler standing there after I missed him, I mean after he moved. LOL

This year I am going to pattern the Heavy Magnum Blend 5,6,7 out of my new 870 with a .665 Jellyhead choke. I patterned the heavy blends out of my 870 with the same choke and they did well. The HD's do better in my setup, but I don't think you will be disappointed with the blends.

I have used Remington 4x6 duplex's in 3" Mag out of my 870 with a stock Remington Turkey choke for many years and have had great success with that combination. The only bird I have ever lost was when I went to my Benelli 3 1/2" mag thinking it was going to be even more powerful....it obviously is but as luck would have it all I did was knock a ton of feathes out of a huge gobbler. Went back to the 870 (lol)

Some more info on the TSS #9 loads, where to get or get the stuff to reload some? There used to be a place in the US we ordered direct for #5 and #7 shot. #7 was the smallest we could get, but with the payload 8's and 9's work great on turkeys. Plus more pellets in each payload. The problem is you can't buy that small of a pellet in the US. Well, a guy on a turkey hunting website has found a place overseas to order the stuff. He makes a huge order, and I just buy thru him. His handle is hawglips on Old Gobber. Go to the reloading forum, and you will find him. If you buy some shot thru him, he'll send you the recipe he's worked up and spent the money to have pressure tested.

I just patterened my Browning BPS 20 ga, vector turkey choke, with 3" HeviShot #5s. Using a target that I printed from an on-line site, I put 26 pellets in the kill zone (head and neck)from 30 yards. By comparison, with the same gun, from the same distance, I put 18 pellets of 3", #5 Federal Magnum Turkey in the kill zone. Obviously, either of those will kill a turkey. Pick your poison.
