Bought my first rifle last week and trying to get into hunting hogs... I got my scope dialed in yesterday at 50 yards... Where is the best place to hunt hogs in north Texas?

Welcome to the forum. Here is just some basics to consider. Do you have anywhere to hunt..or do you have any friends who do.. there are no free places to hunt and people don't take kindly to hunting on their land without permission. Do you have a hunting lisence? Have you taken a hunter saftey class? Hogs are mostly hunted at night, do you have any night lights to hunt with. Why is your scope dialed in to only 50 yds? Just trying to see how new you are to hunting I guess to see what kind of answers you really need

Thanks Redhunter.. i dont have a place to hunt yet.. i do have some friends that hunts and just trying to find other places.. i have not taken any safty clases yet.. i have no hunting lights what so-ever.. i only dialed in my scop to 50yrds because the shooting range i went to, 50yrds is the longest...

You should sight in your scope to 100 , get lights, and go talk to land owners. Offer to trade work for hunt, building fence, or anything they need done. Unless your ready to pay to hunt, you won't find anyone that will just let you hunt for free, even for hogs. I'd worry about hunters safety classes first. Do you have a hunting license? Asking for free hog hunts is like whipping a dead horse around here.

I tell you what brother.. I've got a place in E.TX that's covered with some huge hogs. I hunt'em at night, and have kill lights on my feeders.. Let me know when you have your hunters safety, and I'll take you to my place FREE.. You shouldn't have an issue killing a big hog, just be prepared to sit all night.. I need help sniping a few off.

Gander mountain offers them. You might call your local TPWD office and see if they can get you more info.
