this is a spin off to a feeder topic i just read about placement in a recent thread. i have never used a tailgate feeder or anything to scatter corn. i have scattered plenty by hand. is it with it to get feeder like that even though you dont go hunting every day to keep the corn out? I just figure that if you only do it a few times, that it wouldnt be worth purchasing or doing where as a permanent feeder, the deer find and know is always there.......??

It is the sound of the corn slinging that they respond to. Just like a spin feeder going off. At first most deer will run from it, but over time they adjust to it and come to the vehicle before the tailgate feeder is on. You can bring deer to you and your setup with it. I have done the samething for years with a coffee can and corn. Just I do not reccommend hunting deer from a vehicle.

Definately worth it in my books.
I would rather hunt a corned road than a feeder any day. At my stand, I have a long road leading to it that I corn everytime I go. Like STX said, the deer will get accustomed to it.
But one downfall... Your feed bill is going to go up!!

Love my tailgate feeders.
Really won't hunt without it.
I don't have any qualms about shooting a deer from a vehicle, it makes doe hunting a breeze
For it is not the quarry that we truly seek, but the adventure.

I broke down and got an All Season feeder for the front of my Jeep. greatest thing to have. While driving back from the blind, i came upon an Axis Doe. It shot off but it did not run far. i stop and turned off the jeep to throw some corn. the Axis kept looking at me but 10-15 minutes later it slowly walked up to the thrown corn and started eating 20 feet from me. it only stood in-front of the jeep for about 5 minutes. I was the only member to have a feeder on a car, so it was not trained to come to cars with feeders.
neat experience, i did not shoot it..

At our lease, the deer come to the roads we corn with tailgate feeders before they will go to the permanant feeder.
My wife's only thing is it can't stare at her when she is eating or sleeping!

Whatever kind you get make sure it can seal off or shut the corn flow down when you turn it off. If not you will be feeding corn everywhere you drive on rough roads.

All Seasons are good but expensive. I've been using a ForEverLast from Academy (under $100) for several years now and it works great. Only con is that only has a 50lb hopper. All Seasons have much larger hoppers.
The other benefit to a tailgate feeder is that they're useful in getting tailgaters off your butt during the drive home.

Typically they mount to a 2" reciever hitch..
I had to do a little engineering to get mine to hook up to the ranger.

Some of the feeders will come with the 2" reciever bracket, and some it is an extra. I believe the AllSeasons comes with everything you need, but don't hold me to that.
If you were a little closer, I have one I'd sell ya cheap. Wife got me a bigger one for Christmas.

all seasons makes a hercules which mounts into the standard 2 inch reciever hitch.
they also make one that is glavanized that hangs on the grille guard of a truck.
I've been using allseasons for a long, long time, never had any issue.

They also make one that mounts to the receiver hitch and is low enough so that you can lower your tailgate without having to remove the feeder.

Has anyone had it or seen someone get it hooked up to a golf cart? Yes at one time All Seasons had a different mount if I remember right that would allow you to attach a 50# capacity feeder to an ATV, UTV or golf cart. Might call them and ask if they do make it.

If you have a golf cart you can get a front bumper with a receiver hitch, then just about any 50lb will work.
I would not go over 50lbs
