Well, I'm 6'0" and if I'm soaking wet I may weigh 125. I shoot at 60# and will usually shoot 40-60 times before I start shaking too bad. Is your shoulder hurting or the muscles on your shoulder? If it's the muscles, then you just need to keep shooting and conditioning. If it's inside your shoulder or shoulder blade, then you have a different kind of problem, and I would be careful about tearing something.

Took it to that archery shop. 68lbs. 5'7" with a 26.5" draw length. Higher draw weight helps keep my speed up.

Mines set at 60 and that's more then enough. U can kill anything with a 40 or 50 pound draw. It's all about placement with the arrow. Remember Ur a bow hunter. U stock Ur kills no need to to set in a stand. Takes all the fun out of bow hunting. Might as well have a rifle. 60's is the way to go.

Higher poundage helps give me an edge if I mis judge a distance. With a higher poundage typically comes flatter trajectory. I'm short so a higher poundage really helps make up for a loss of speed.
For it is not the quarry that we truly seek, but the adventure.

64#. I shot a dudes Bowtech that was at 88# a few times. I know I can draw it back, but there is really no point in it. Draw what you can pull back the smoothest and hold for a while.

I am 6'2, 225 lbs and pull 70#. I dropped down to 60 last year, just to see how I liked it, but arrows dropped to quickly downrange and I raised it back up. Any type of rowing exercise, pull-ups and an "inverted push-up" will strengthen the same muscles you use to pull a bow. For and inverted push-up lay on your back and pull-up on something. I lay under the boat and pull-up on the trailer. Don't laugh, it works and my kids think I am crazy so they leave me alone!

I shoot 62# out of a 60# bow, I can shoot a 70# bow but why 60 is more than enough. Keep shooting and you build those muscles and you will find you can shoot more and more without any fatique. X2 out of a Mathews Drenalin

I am 6'2 240 and i shoot 60 pounds on both my bows. With a 55/75 gold tip arrow and 100 grain tip i am shooting right at the legal speed for ASA at 280..Bows have evelved so good in the last 15 years or so that IMO the is no need to shoot any faster. 25 years ago when I first got into archery I shot 78 pounds with an overdraw to achieve a speed of about 250..With carbon arrows, FF strings and new limb material and designs, my sons Browning micro eclipse at 35 pounds shot 240fps. Thats was 10 years ago!

I'm 5'7", and shoot 65# on my bow @ 28" draw. I'm good for 40-50 shots before I get fatigued. Working on building back up to 100 or more.
