Well, took a bit of a plunge and spent some money on real sambar stag. Put it on a CM154 blade, tapered tang, with 416 bolsters. Turned out fairly well, and is part of a deal that will shape the future of Fry Custom Knives. Enjoy the pics.

maybe your first venture in sambar but my son still has that axis edc i got from you a couple of years ago = i still think it is the prettiest knife i have ever seen

This stag came from VCM3 (Vince Mazzei) through bladeforums. He's been selling alot of stag, both scales and tapers. Hunt him down, I'm sure he'll make you a deal. He's also a member here, if you can find him.
