Saw a creedmoor bullet at GT the other day. I think if I did it I would have to go with a lightweight set up

Wow! I liked it until I saw the price tag! I'm running an MTU contour barrel on my 260 now, and it is a heavy one. I just set it back to about 23" from 27", and it made a big difference. But I want something lighter next time.

My Surgeon 260 built on the same 591 action is a hammer!

That seems awfully pricey; You could have one built for a lot less I think.

Great looking rifle though, the AICS is a holy grail for me.

Love mine. I debated calibers alot, and decided to build the soccom mk13 mod 5 clone.

If you got it built, it would cost you ~$3300 in parts. I didn't include gunsmithing because prices vary from smith to smith.

AICS: $1100
591/R: $1300
Barrel: $435 fluted, $325 unfluted
Jewell: $230
Cerakote: $200 (depends on smith)

Depends if you wanted to wait for the smith or have it ASAP.

1:10 twist? That can't be right, must be a misprint. Nice rifle, not in my budget. I actually am hoping Ruger will chamber their new American in 6.5 Creedmor. I would definitely buy one of those to play with!

6.5-284 beats them both and can be loaded down to the same velocity with great accuracy

Creedmore is a short action cartridge, the Swede is not.

Some shooters like being able to keep a proper cheek wield while cycling the action.

Not just a matter of raw velocity #'s - if that's what I want I've already got a 264win mag. 6.5cm fits nicely in a short action w/ plenty of room to seat the longer high BC bullets in a short action magazine w/o intruding on powder space.

also the creedmoor bullets can be seated longer and still fit in a short action magazine
