Maxus, and xplor are better equipped to handle mag loads then any inertia gun. It's the nature of a gas ports vs a spring.

I know a guide that's done with benelli after going through two guns in four seasons.

I'm rough on my maxus and just finished its third season as far as mag shells over 4 flats of hyper Sonics 3 & 3.5 and a flat of frocci pheasant loads and probably 8 flats of dove loads.

Only cleaned it once

Better equipped? As in less recoil? I know lots of guys that have SBEs and SBEIIs that are getting pretty old and they are still working fine. I'm not sure you can really say a SBE is less durable...I contend it's more durable. You can site other reasons why you like the other guns like the personal fit and feel.

Correct me if I am wrong but I thought I read that the Maxus only comes in one size load 3" shells or 3.5" shells.

I am wrong??

I prefer the term Cool jets as opposed to cool your jets. I believe the former shortened version is cooler and more hip.

Browning .....
I have hunted a Browning Gold for 14-15 yrs
great gun in all conditions . I have passed this gun to many hunters
in the blind when their gun fails .
My next one will be the Maxus in black
Remember if u buy one with camo on it the camo will go out of style

Inertia guns insides take full blunt of the recoil, nature of having nothing but a spring. Gas guns reduce the recoil via the ports, then spring absobs the rest as it cycles next round.

I have a benelli montefeltro, all ready having spring issues with it. I also have a Beretta 301 gas that is 25 years older and had thousands of rounds mainly pheasant and duck load through it and still has never had an issue

Did anyone mention the "new" browning A5? It will be based upon the Benelli patent.

On the Browning Maxus I found out today that even though the barrel states 3.5" shells only that it can still take 2-3/4" and 3" shells......according to the clerks at Marburgers in Kemah Texas. He states that the Browning representative assured him that it would take those shells.

Anyone with Browning Maxus confirm or deny this.

Thanks!

A 3.5" will take them all and cycle them flawlessly.

There are two models a 3 and 3.5

I have a 3.5 and it will shot 3.5 hypersonics all day long if your man enough. Also will run 2 3/4 and 3

All this talk about autos is making me ill. Get an over/under. I have a Browning Citori and a Winchester 101. Never a problem cycling, the camo pattern never goes out of style cause there aint one. Man up. Get a real gun.

Who said I was getting the camo pattern.....My remington 1100's are all wood. But I will not put steel shot down them. Period.

For years I used a Beretta 391 for duck hunting. But now I use this gun for doves and the Benelli Vinci for ducks. I always thought I would buy a Beretta Extrema but went with Benelli instead. I think next season I will use the Beretta once in a while for ducks. All this talk about semi-auto shotguns makes me sad that the duck season is coming to an end. I'm already looking forward to the Fall!

The only person I know that uses an O/U for waterfowling is my dad. He uses it because he is left handed and he won the gun. Then again he only goes on a handful of hunts/year.

I'm using my extra shot enough times where it makes since to not limit myself with only two shots. And congrats to you in advance if you are going to say that you are such a good shot you only need two. Another little secret is that O/Us are not bullet proof either...they will have issues as the same rate any gun has.
