I would go with a Palmetto State Armory or Spikes Tactical.

My palmetto state armory mid length AR is awesome. It was my first lower build and my first AR ever. I highly recomend them. I don't think anyone comes close to the quality they offer for their prices.

I've been quite happy with my Spike's Tactical.

Glock: It's like a hammer, not very pretty but works when you need it.

The Smith & Wesson M&P 15 Sport has gotten great reviews as well.

Smith and Wesson is going to give you the best resell value if you are inclined to sell your guns down the road.
