From what I understand it is illegal. But you might wanna check with Texas Animal Health Commission to make sure. There are so many set regulations just to be able to sell them alive (which I dont think many people obey) that I think it would almost make it impossible to sell the meat legally without going through the proper holding and butchering procedures.

Since hogs are pork I believe the USDA regulates them and since you are probably not a USDA certified slaughter house you can't sell the meat you harvest. You can sell live animals but Texas has regulations regarding that.
If it looks good, eat it.
Rocks are cool, also kittens.

Can you tell me WHY wild hogs can only be transported to a state approved holding facility first then? It's illegal, are some being sold under the table, sure there are. There are always going to be poachers too.

I believe you can. "Texas allows hunters to kill wild hogs year-round without limits or capture them alive to take to slaughterhouses to be processed and sold to restaurants as exotic meat." Read more: http://www.smithsonianmag.com/science-nature/A-Plague-of-Pigs-in-Texas.htmlYou can take them off property dead and do what you want with them, they can no long spread any dieases dead.

The best bet might be to call Texas Parks and Wildlife and ask.
