I'm thinking about starting a rental service for those guys that like varmit hunting but can't/don't want to spend the money for night vision equipment that they will use only several times a year. I'd like to know what everybody thinks, you can PM me here or at john@widawear.com

There will be a cash depo and credit card number and a rental agreement, if the equipment is returned in the same condition as it went out you get your depo back if its broken I keep the cash depo to repair the equipment plus I have credit card number plus driver lic. number etc.

Thanks guys for your input, I plan on using quality equipment so once you rent you'll come and rent again, and I will provide a laser bore sight to so you can sight it in. Thanks again, I'll be in touch, should have things together within the next week or so.

HEY! Recon you could get someone to write you a serice/insurance policy? You may be on the tip of an iceburg. You know only 10 percet float above water. The 90 percent you never see could be the mother load!

I'd be VERY interested in this. Assuming it was the good stuff (not gen 1-2) AND the rental fee is reasonable...
PM me if you decide to do it. I know some others that'd be interested as well.

Problem is this... you'll have to get a business license to allow you to carry insurance to cover equipment. A really good plan on paper, but i'd be willing to bet you cant cover cost to keep the biz going, unless you have a client list 3 miles long, and an ins company in your pocket. Hate to say it, but I speak the truth. Tried the same thing with my bass boat around Big Bass time.
If you find a way around it, please pm me.

Of course, you can trust your 3 or 4k equipment to folks you dont know without an insurance policy, but thats your call.

Neat idea. I have considered buying but am "in the dark" as to what is workable. This would give a guy an opportunity to test equipment. How would you make this available to someone out of your area? Good idea!

Only just beginning to look into night vision stuff.
How do I shoot my gun at night unless it has a night vision scope mounted on it? You gonna rent those too?

You'd also need to confirm the citizenship status of anyone you were renting to if it is Gen3 or higher if I recall. Allowing a non-US-citizen to look at the manual or thru a Gen3+ is a federal offense.
You'd need to check on the ITAR/BATF/etc rules to see if they have changed. That or rent gear that isn't restricted to US Citizen only access...

Another idea. Ya might just offer a complete package of night hunting and you provide the gun and night vision equipment that way your equipment never leaves your sight. Just another thought.Good luck to you either way.

No offense but this would be like me renting my bass boat for a guided fishing trip? DON'T DO IT. I have my own NV set up and I won't even let me dearest friends borrow it!!
