Anyone have a barrel nut wrench for a Winchester 190 that I could use? I am in McKinney.

TIA

I've got a Sears Roebuck 3T; which is a Win 190 made for Sears. I bought it a few weeks ago at the LGS. I striped it down and refinished it. I didn't have a barrel wrench. VERY carefully, I used a pin punch that was as thick as the slot in the nut. Depending on how tight it is, the nut can probably be loosened with a tool you have in your toolbox. I used a small ball-peen hammer and lightly tapped the punch until the nut loosened. I tightened it the same way. Don't know if this helps, but it might be worth a try. When I got the nut tightened again, there was a very small mark in the bluing, not in the metal. I touched it with some cold blue and it's impossible to tell what was done.

I might try that, thanks. The gun was given to me and someone had taken it apart and then wasn't able to tighten the barrel nut. Trying to avoid paying $25 for a tool I'll only use once.
