Wow - horrible. The sauce was too tomato-ey, the pork ribs where tough and no flavor and the brisket was mediocre at best.
I don't post much on here but felt this was worth my time to tell people to spend your money elsewhere.

Haha I have a feeling you're gonna get a beat down from the South Texas crowd on that one...
Bill Miller's is a San Antonio institution! High quality? No... but I can get a Po Boy, potato salad, and sweet tea for $5. Which is a lot more than can be said about that crap they peddle at Dickey's for $10 up here!
The two worst things about living in Dallas for me are Mavs fans and not being able to eat at Bill Miller's!
(all that said, most of the guys I take to eat there when we go to SA absolutely hate it! To each his own!)

I like Bill Millers, but it is hit or miss. Brisket can be great one day and nothing but fat the next. They make great breakfast tacos. Sauce is not as good as Rudy's but not bad. My favorite is still The Salt Lick, but a Bill Millers PO Boy is not to bad!

As stated before Bill Millers BBQ isn't high quality but for the price it can't be beat. I haven't stopped at Dickey's but haven't heard anything great about it. If you are in SA stop at a Rudy's you'll enjoy it. Grady's used to be good but the quality has gone down.
Don't take life so seriously, you'll never make it out alive!

When I was stationed in San Antonio, Bill Miller's was one of our go out to eat places. My wife and I could both eat there for under $10, and that was for two dinners, not sandwiches. That was also 20 years ago, but I still stop in when I am in that area.

Yeah, this was a pretty brave post. Bill Miller's is the "mc donalds" of BBQ. No one is asking for life changing BBQ, but it's pretty damn good. Like others have mentioned, for the price, its unbeatable. They do have the best pecan pie, I've eaten. Breakfast tacos are the best.
Bill miller has really perfected the cafeteria style BBQ eatery.

Bill Miller's isn't the best BBQ in the world, but for the price it can't be beat. How about that Fried Chicken? I think it's great for the price. Go Spurs Go!

Taking place March 9-10, 2012 at the National Shooting Complex in San Antonio, BBQ teams from all over the great state of Texas and beyond will compete for cash and prizes at the second annual “TTHA’s Bucks and BBQ” State Championship BBQ Cook-Off and Food Drive sanctioned by the International Barbeque Cookers Association (IBCA). TTHA recognizes that while the BBQ teams compete for fun, glory and prizes, there are many people in the San Antonio area that go hungry every day. Therefore, TTHA has teamed up with the San Antonio Food Bank to raise awareness and to add a much needed boost to the community pantry. The mission of the San Antonio Food Bank is to fight hunger in Southwest Texas through food distribution, programs, education and advocacy. All teams and attendees are asked to bring canned goods, other non-perishable food items and/or monetary donations to the BBQ cook-off event. Collection bins will be on site for donations. The National Shooting Complex is located at 5931 Roft Road, off of Culebra Rd (FM 471) and outside Loop 1604, on the North West side of San Antonio. We hope to see you at the event! www.ttha.com/bbq

If you re-designate your thinking of Bill Millers to everything except their Brisket and sauce, it ain't bad.
I usually have their carved Turkey or roasted chicken with slaw and beans or salad and a water.
This keeps me in rock hard shape.

You need to try the Smokehouse on the East side of SA take the Roland exit off IH 10 East and it dead ends at Rigsby and the Smokehouse is right across the street, it's all you're looking for and more, they have lamb ribs as well which is something you seldom find in this part of Texas

Bill Millers isn't a BBQ institution. But it's a good value for what it is. If you're hoping to get great BBQ go somewhere else. If you want a decent lunch at a decent price then it fits the bill.
