Been feeding the small bites to my dogs as off season maintenance food for over a year. Feed the performance formula durring hunting season. No complaints from the dogs, this is one of the few dog foods that all 3 will eat. I have tried many different brands and varieties. 4Health is the one we will stick with. No corn, soy or wheat products. Price per pound is better than most. According to the guy at TS it is made by call of the wild!

I have been feeding it since the summer. It is a high quality food, but it is a very LOW calorie content. Because of this, my dogs have had thinner hair and lost a ton of weight. I just switched them over to a higher calorie food.
If your dog isn't a hunting dog or it is off season, this is a really good food, but watch their weight and anything else that change due to malnutrition. To keep my dogs looking good, I had to feed 40% more than the recommended feeding off of the bag.
I had a thread about this about 2 weeks ago, it was labeled something like "Dog food and hair quality".
One of my dogs had awful gas while feeding it. I am not sure if it was him or the food. We will see soon since they are on the new food. The other dogs didn't have the issue.

Stinkbelly nailed it. Consumer Reports did a study several years ago, and concluded that all dog foods in the study were fine. The dog food is working if the weight, and stool are okay.
Dogs should be hunted on empty stomachs. They don't get their energy for the food. They get it from their blood. The food is digested and the energy is stored. The stored energy is in what is called general metabolic pool.
Quail hunting is like walking into, and out of a beautiful painting all day long. Gene Hill

Low calories means u have to feed more so in long run its more expensive than a food that costs more

I was feeding the performance and it was only 370kcal/cup. I switched to Innova at 504kcal/cup.

I fed 4 health puppy and then performance to my WPG. I switched to it because she seemed to have a little skin allergies and wondered if it helped. I fed it for about 9 months until I got a bag that the color seemed a little lighter than the previous bag. She ate one bowl and got sick as can be. Vomiting and Diarrhea. After a little investigation, it was determined that, for whatever reason, that particular lot of food did not get cooked all the way. TS refunded my money. However that was the last bag I bought. I switched to the purina one smart blend (main ingredient: chicken, lamb, or salmon depending on which one) and she has had less skin issues and weight is great. I know alot of people hate purina, but i feed it to all three of mine and they do great and love it. 2 WPG's and a standard poodle.

Where is Pro Plan Performance at? Petsmart and most feed stores. I know Atwoods carries it.
