Curious what the biggest cat everyone has shot. Mine was a little 28lb 'er. If you have pics that would be great too! I am really wanting to shoot one in the next few months worth mounting.

I wish I had got him mounted way back when, me and some buddies went out one night and shot a monster, weighed 41 lbs on the bathroom scales. But in those days that was a $200+ cat and we sold him with everything else. Have taken several over the years around 35# I've got a picture to post up later or tomorrow.

23/24 lbs with a .221fireball, didnt even bleed on the fur until it got hoisted on the scales.
on the flip side, I have seen cats that were so starved skinny, when they were face on, they almost dissapeared.

Forum says "Veteran Tracker". I could not track a garbage truck into a fireworks factory.

Probably not huge but I got it with my bow. The one that I want to shoot, hopefully this weekend if everything works out right. This pic was taken 7 days after I shot the one above at the same feeder.

Not sure what he weighed & I wish I had got him in the middle of winter (shot him opening weekend of bow season) so he would have had thicker hair, but my Taxi (Dave Dooley) had mounted probably thousands of bobcats before this one & said he had only ordered 1 other mold that was the size of this one before this one. He was old, his teeth weren't even very sharp, that's why I went with this mount. This one weighed 33# but I had to do a head mount because he was shot 5 or 6 times with a shotgun (him & my bird dog where in a fight) This one was little, it was my first one.
Haven't had it in years but never spit any out. I am a sucker for happy endings and strapped cowboys.

I'm from Idaho so it's not really apples to apples, but being a Cataholic, I can't resist sharing a few. My biggest to date, 38# Tom treed by the 37# Cur Dog in the pic. A nice Female with a 400.00 belly. Another big Tom (stretched 42") I took a few weeks ago. The 38# Tom (stretched 43") on the way to the fur buyer, along with a 39"er. (36" is XL, the price goes up pretty fast after that). Couple of worthless potlickers with a nice Female. FWIW,,,,, I'm a lurker, but just gotta say how much I enjoy the lack of bickering and BS on this site. Stay Safe Charlie

Thanks txldy I'm getting older and the mountains around here are getting steeper, but I still enjoy Chasing Cats even though I only take one or two a year. Fortunatly the Cats we have up here are worth the effort. Here's a pretty Tom with a nice pale coat. Shot it over a FoxPro with my beloved little CZ in 17FB. I'll take em any way I can get em. Even cath one now and again in one of the half dozen Coil Springs I run in the woods behind my place. Stay Safe Charlie

Mydogshunt, I don't want to pirate someone else's thread but would you mind giving out some info on the brindle dog, my son has a weakness for brindle dogs and whenever we see one we like, we find out what breed it is and what have you. Thanks.
