Kinda like the subject says this post is about my lil bro. We have a 10 year difference and it has played a big role in our relationship. But within the last year I could not be more pleaseed with him. When I graduated high school I went off to college and could not be more than happy to get away, only coming home every once and a while for a occaisional hunt or females on the weekends. I could not do anything to get him in the field with me. I would literally have to drag him to the stand, and he would gripe the entire time. Well he has now turned 16 and transfered schools (that is full of hunting families) and he is enjoying every minute of it. This season we both went deer hunting together, just got a doe, and the best to me, was seeing him duck hunting. I was very impressed with him waking up at 4 am, like it was nothing. I now live in the same town, on the same road, cornered on the same property as my parents. I am a half mile away. I enjoy seeing my parents along with my brother as much as possible. I think that family is one of the most improtant things in life. The only thing that made me think of this, is that tonight I was in the garage working on the hog trap and a truck pulled up. Lone behold it was my lil bro. He wanted to hang out, have a dip (which it was his own I didnt give it to him, but he can do what he wants, I did the same), and wanted to weld on the trap. Honestly I was impressed, I think he is a better welder than I am, which doesnt take much. Either way this has been a great season. I got to get my first bow buck, slap down a bunch of ducks, and I mean A LOT! But most off, my lil nintendo playing brother decided he like the outdoors and we got to spend some, not alot, but some time together. I realized tonight, how important that is. I cant wait to watch him take his first buck, and so on. Our father supports hunting, but never was the one to take us in the feild, so I feel its my duty to show him the great enjoyment you can get from the outdoors. Sorry for the long boring story. Just thought I would share.

Proud of him

I edited this post..... Lets see a pic or tell us a story about your and your brother.

I will add this too, back when he was actually smaller than me...

Its a picture of a pic. Grainy I know.

Good post!!! The one thing I remember with my 2 brothers is that although we each other growing up, if someone messed with one of us they soon found out there was 3 of us to contend with!!!

My brother doesn't hunt anymore, gave it up about 15 yrs ago, it bothers me that we don't spend time in the woods like we used too. Definitely not as close as we used to be. That's awesome about your brother, glad yall enjoy time together.

My litte brother as well as our older sister have worked together and been in many business partnerships since our high school days. Scary but that's approaching 45 years and we are still working and hanging out together daily. cheers

My brother is 2 years younger than me. We used to hunt all the time but as soon as he graduated HS he pretty much gave it up. He has only been to the lease a handful of times in the past two years. Hopefully he has a change of heart like your brother did. Good pics

This me and my bro (on the right), We don't get to hunt together as much as we use to when we didn't have families of our own, but we try to get at least a pheasant hunt in every year.

Cherish those time boys, they can change in an instant. Just three years ago I got a call that my brother didn't wake up that morning. We'd skipped playing golf the day before because we were both too busy.

Always wanted a brother or sister..... That maybe one of the closest relationships you can have aside from your kids. Glad you two are enjoying spending time with each other up

Thats a good feeling knowing you have a best friend in your brother like that, and its the same for me. Growing up, my brother and I were as different as night and day. We would get to go out to the lease with our uncle from time to time but not often. I always remember fishing with him, and him always getting his line all tangled up, throwing his pole down and saying he wasnt fishing anymore, then after I got it all untangled for him he would be fishing again 5 minutes later, lol, the good old days. As we got into our teenage years, he went down a different path, hanging out with the wrong people and doing the wrong things, and it eventually caused him to end up in prison for a few years. He has been out of prison for about 10 years now, and I could not be prouder. He is one of the most responsible people I know know.
He hunts now with me a few times a year. He can only bow hunt or use his black powder, but he is working on getting his record expunged so he can rifle hunt, but it doesnt matter, its still nice to be able to hang out with him, and we usually end up killing more 12 packs than we do anything else. I am in the middle, and my little bro is on the left back when I was about 16 and he was around 12 or so.....

Here is one from when we were very little, the blonde kid is our cousin.

I look at my boys ages 3 and 6 as they grow up and see them act the same exact way my brother and I did growing up. They give each other hell, but when it comes down to it, they stick together like glue.
Thanks for letting me share. Ain't nothing like family!

There's nothing better than spending time hunting and fishing with your brother(s). I cherish the many memories of doing both with mine. Although it's been a few years since I've done either with my brothers, it's fun at holidays to sit around and reminisce on the good old days. Life, work, and families have taken away the amount of time we had to spend together, but I'm working on putting together an offshore trip for us around Fathers Day...can hardly wait up

On a side note, make sure to set a good example for your brother East...he may not admit it (I wouldn't have) but even though he's 16, he still looks up to you. Spend every second together that you can, for all too soon, life will be pulling at you both from different directions and it'll be hard to get those moments in.

Cherish those moments. I've lost all 3 of my brothers, the last one my younger brother Roy, who died of a heart attack 3 years ago.

Will do man, Im just glad he came around and we have more in common now. I know after he graduates our time to spend together will become limited. Hope to send him out with a good head on his shoulders.

Man eastTXhunter300 you sound like you are wanting to settle down and get married on us. grin Cherish the time together as you are lucky that you are still young enough to enjoy it with him. Whenever you both are married the time you can spend together will be harder to come by.

Dont have any pictures but I do have a brother and were some of the closest brothers you can get. See each other at least once a week, usually more and take every day on the phone, it doesn't matter how busy we are!

Enjoy every moment you can together, nothing takes the place of a sibling. I lost my brother to a drunk 21 years, 7 months, 3 days ago and a day has not passed that I haven't thought of him and the times we had together and all the times we have missed. We rode horses, hunted, fished, played pool, 4 wheeled, and usually made a nuisance of ourselves but we were tight. I do miss him.
