Anyone ever heard of tower hunts for ducks? I don't think they are ethical and I strongly disagree with them, but I've heard a lot about them lately. Even saw a "hunting" show recently where the hosts went on one. What are your thoughts?

Perfectly fine in my opinion. Definitely not a hunt by any strech of the imagination. But I'm sure it would be a good time with friends or coworkers.

Beats the heck out of shooting the clay variety.

To each his own. IMO a good time with friends or coworkers would be going on a real hunt. Not to a pond where some guy is behind a dam throwing pen raised ducks in your direction.

I enjoyed a tower hunt for pheasants in Ohio once. Not exactly fish in a barrel IMHHO. If you are shooting released birds this is similiar, again IMHHO. I know we had the best count of the two man teams and didn't have 50% but I didn't carry my share. It was a memorable day with mu son..

If its what Im thinking it is then there is a reason for them being in tall blinds like that and at times when the water levels are low then yes they can look like tower blinds. But I dont see any thing wrong with it, not my style but hey cuttem the way you feel is right.

I think they should be be classified as Tower Shoots instead of Hunts.
