That's a great 8. I let one with a similar rack but much bigger body walk this year in hopes that my grandson would get a shot at him but we never saw the old deer again. That's the way it goes.

Funny how everyone was guessing 2.5-3.5 until you posted the age. Then all of a sudden he looked older to everyone. Thats good stuff right there.

I tried to give enough clues in the OP but everyone but rifleman was going the way of my guides. "He's 3.5". Sometimes you have to look at things besides body size and shape. Especially this time of the year.

Great looking buck. Guessing from the pics I would have called him 5.5. But you have already posted he was 7.5 by tooth wear. Does not look that old from the TC pics but he is a great buck either way.

I could have but left them at the ranch with all the others. I'll see if one of my guys can bring them back next weekend. We had a higher number of 7.5+ yr old deer taken this year than normal. I think it goes to me letting the bucks get some age on them for the last 6 years and not trying to kill every good buck walking around. My 5.5 yr old class is pretty much none existant this year. I think we took one buck that was 5.5.

I scored him this past weekend and he came in at 144 7/8.
