Theres a lot of glock suckers on here go with the m&p.

Not sure what a "scucker" is but I will assume that you mean a "sucker". If so, suckers usually are the ones with the biggest mouth, and after reading some of your posts, I think you fit the bill.

Just because I don’t like pistol Pete or b&s guns there’s no need for name calling. You must be one of those old farts that is over opinionated time for some warm milk and geritol.

"NAME CALLING"???? You must be kidding me !!! Before you start spewing all this non-sense about "name calling" you might want to go back and re-read your original post on this thread where you called me and everyone else that likes Glocks "Glock scuckers"!

Just for the record...I am 29 and aparently a lot more mature than you will ever be!! You know......It just might be your attitude that is the problem, and not the people that have to put up with it!

If you have a recomendation for the person looking for a 40 caliber, then give it, but leave this dreaded "name calling" that you preach against out of it if you actually want someone to respect what you have to say.

Now take your "name calling" and go crawl back in your hole before you get this thread locked down!!

If you want something a little less expensive try a C.Z. or a taurus i have both and shoot real well and feed any round i have put thru em. Personally i like S.W. but all guns listed you cant go wrong.

MAny of the makers that were suggested are good handguns, you really can't go wrong with any of them. If you like an all metal gun take a look at the Baretta 96 and the CZ 75 line. Both are very well made and shoot accurately.

I recently bought a Kahr CW40 and really like it. It's alot smaller and lighter than the 1911 I generally carry. It is also 100 percent made in the U.S.A. Do a web search for Kahr reviews and you will see everyone who ranks it gives it 5 stars.

SIG
HK
GLOCK
S&W M&P

You can get Sigs in your price range. Might as well start with the best there is.....

.45 special 5 shot pistol. Highly effective round, very friendly price. Stats here:
This (or the hammerless version) is what that [censored]-hat used to kill John Lennon

They can be had here for $250-$350

Same gun, except the trigger, which in intercheangable with the glock. So for $20 bucks you basically have about 99% glock...

But I do agree, the HK and XD and M&P are nice.

I just put in my order for a Glock 23. Should have it on monday. I had pretty much decided on the 27 but after researching, I dont it would have worked with my big hands. The 23 should be about the right size. Total cost including taxes and next day UPS was $472.

My opinion of the Sigma is that it does exactly what it was designed to do. If you want a target only gun, it is probably not for you. This gun gets bashed so much due to its trigger pull (which is strong), but it IS a DOA gun. It is not a flaw in design, it is a safety design that was implemented due to the requests from police officers.

With that said, I shot mine for the first time today. 250 rounds of cheap UMC ammo without a single problem. I am already used to the trigger pull and have heard after 500-1000 rounds it smoothes itself out anyway. Mine shot low out of the box, 1" low from 10 yards, and 2" from 20 yards. For a target gun, that sucks. For a personal protection weapon, which is what this gun was designed for, that is just fine. Bottom line is for $250-$300, I don't think I could ask for more.

I am going to create a topic here soon on my day at the range with it, for those who are interested.

Simple and reliable, no fancy decocker, ease of cleaning and accurate. For a good entry level gun all arrows point to Glock.
