Ive seen some pictures of hunters using dogs to hunt Hog. Im wondering if there are anymore benefits to using dogs rather then a gun???

Don't think a gun can sniff out a hog!

You dont have to waste time baiting and waiting. The dogs go and find em for ya. You might get lucky and kill 1,2 or 3 hogs before they all hit the hiway with a gun, with dogs you can, if you have decent dogs, catch the whole sounder in one hunt. Plus with dogs you have the option of tieing the hog and get him out alive for the buyer or game ranches, dead hogs are not worth much.

the dogs seldom dispatch the hogs, they usually will either catch them, or just bay " surround" them holding them for a hunter to get on the scene to either shoot them, stick them, or catch them.

America is at that awkward stage. It's too late to work within the system, but too early to shoot the bastards. Claire Wolfe

If you sittin in stand hogs mayb sleeping 20 yrd behind you an you never know a dog will find them an you can catch them alive an they also will cause hogs to move out of area if you hunt it a few times with dogs good for farmers , I would rather catch an tie a hog then kill them any day
