Don't get me wrong. But he appears to be 19-20 inches straight tape. Hard to judge by pics. Black buck can be very deceiving through photos

BIG!
If I had to give my amatuerish guess I would say in the neighborhood of 23"-24" straight tape, however it could be bigger. Not claiming to be an expert at all.

Ive been offered REALLY REALLY REALLY good price to take this buck and a doe/spike WT. Im just trying to justify after booking a Oryx hunt today. Do older bucks loose there black color of being dominant when they get this old?

This black buck was 21 3/4x22 1/4, I know, I shot it and measured it for ROE. It was #2 with a bow that year. I think the one in the pic is a little longer, though his curls are not very deep. He is a great blackbuck. I paid around $1500 for mine in 07 and that was a great price back then.

I don't see how anybody could estimate that blackbuck being 20" or less, even from that photo. I shot an 18" straight tape and this one is SIGNIFICANTLY larger than mine. Not a mere inch or two.

For what it is worth, I just pulled out my score sheet from this black buck I killed a couple of years ago.
He measured 22 4/8" on one side and 23 3/8" on the other, straight measurment. His total score was 65 4/8

I'd say he is 20-21" straight tape and will be just over 30-31" with the curls.

Nice buck. I was thinking 21 inch maybe tad more. I find it very hard to judge black buck by pics.

There is no way that thing is less than 20” straight tape Ray Charles could see that.
Stuart if that animal is less than 20 I will come shoot one of your Orxy at your ridicules price that you’ve been griping about soooo much.

I would guess he is 21-22" straight tape. Certainly a great black buck speciman. They always look bigger alive.
Maybe Ray Charles wouldn't think so but for most of us that is almost always true...ground shrinkage..lol

No dopubt they ALWAYS look bigger alive. I have shot a few and been on many other kills and mounted a lot of them. When I am judging them feeding like this,..if they are approaching the top of the shoulder (like this one) I would say "around" 20-21ish. Shooter! The front corner of of the eye to the tip of nose is about 5.5" for reference.

My amateurish guess was 23-24. By personal knowledge (never classified it as "professional") I can clearly see that the blackbuck at hand is not under 20". Thanks for the recognition.......

Trozacky

The color goes to black when they mature and become the dominate male. He looks really nice, if you like him and the price is right.
