I found a Buck 112 that I have had for years, but is in pretty bad shape. The blade is fine, but the handle mainly the wood looks pretty bad. Any ideas on cleaning this handle so it would look good again?

Pretty bad shape can mean a lot of different things. Are there gouges or cuts, has the wood been wet for long periods of time. If it's trashed I would knock out the pins and duplicate the dimensions on a wood of your choice. If it's just scuffed up a bit I would tape off any bolster material (brass, etc) then sand the handles with progressively finer grit. Start out with the highest grit that will remove the crud the easiest. Super Glue the wood being careful not to get glue on the steel or working parts. A couple of coats will do it. I use a latex glove to spread it around with my finger. Good luck

Send it back to Buck they refurbish knives and will replace the blade and refurbish the wood as well for probably $ 20.00 plus shipping. I had an old knife a "Ranger" and couldn't believe it when I got it back.

Just wondering, but if they replace the handle and the blade on a knife.... arent they just giving you a new knife?

Yep, pert near! but that is why they stand behind their product.

You will want to take before and after photos, since it won't look anything like before.

I had a broken blade on a buck knife that I found in my dads stuff after he passed away.. Sent it to buck, they sent me a new knife and thanked me for being a buck buying customer. I will now buy buck, thats great customer service.
