So I built a really nice, dry, and warm box blind for this past season. I swear I cant sit for more than an hour without passing out for at least 30 minutes. Any suggestions?

Extra strength 5 Hr Energy. Thats what I use while doing route clearance for up to 18 hrs strait in Afghanistan. Definition of Route clearance driving down a road at 5 mph staring at the road while looking for IEDs. Pretty boring at times and hard to stay awake. Music works well too if you have an Ipod.

I will come and pick it up and take it off your hands and trade you one of my ladder stands!!! J/K Seriously though, isn't that one of the reasons we go in the woods in the first place - to relax and get away from the stresses of everyday life? Don't fight the sleep!!!

i'm an old guy who works night shift and when you make me get up early and place me in a blind some nappings gonna occur.
sappertiatan, thank you for your service! i can't imagine doing your job but i definitely want you awake when doing it. My son is a fan of those 5 hour energy drinks, i'm an old coffee addict. Hopefully, you're back in the US, if not, you be careful over there in the desert.

Set up and hunt where there's lots of deer movement. If you're busy watching deer you won't get sleepy.

You made it too warm, dry, and comfortable. Open the door and windows, wear wet shoes and take your shirt off. That ought to keep you awake and miserable like the rest of us.

Naps are great, unless in a tree stand w/ no harness.

Don't fight it, sleep, wake up, see deer...
Leave the heater off and open the windows, get a less comfortable chair. Make things not so cozy.

I am in the same position without the sleep though. Hunted tripods for 15 years and finally built a nice box blind. Sure wish I wouldn't have spent so many years cold and wet.
Does anyone else wake up right before the deer walk out?

I tend to hunt tripods alot more than box blinds, so a nap isn't happening. Just like being able to hear, particularly on calm days.
If it's real windy, I jump in a box blind. Regardless, I can't remember ever falling asleep in a blind, but know many who do. Even know a guy who has a cot in his blind.

for grown men and women, especially with kids, the "nap" is something i usualy only get to do in the blind! enjoy it, embrace it, get to the blind earlier so you can get your nap out of the way by first light and your good to go@

I'm grown and have kids, but I just don't nap in the blind.
Now, a mid-day nap back at the house is a whole different thing! Though, my wife and kids don't go with me on hunts, yet at least.

My suggestion, don't fight it. Blind naps are great.

It seems that when I wake up from a nap, the deer are looking at me.
If you want some friendly advice, get a haircut and take a bath. You wouldn't get hassled so much.

Nothing better than a nap in the blind.

I like my deer blind naps, but sometimes a play Angry Birds or solitaire on my phone to pass the time.
