Why are bows illegal during muzzleloader season? What could be the reason other than muzzleloader sales? Anyone have a sane logical reason?

Probably the same reason you can't use a muzzleloader in Archery season. But this is just a far fetch guess!!!

Because Muzzle loader season is a "special season". It is not a part of General Season.

All I know is I am thankful for the 3.5 months I get to hunt with all of them. Could be much worse. Let us embrace what we have. If you dont like compounds, try a crossbow (it is a blast). If you have never tried the new style "inline" muzzies, pick up one and try it out. It really is fun as well.

I moved down here from IL where you cant bow hunt during the gun season. Gun hunt is two non consecutive 3 day weekends. Oh yeah and gun hunt is shotgun, muzzle loader or a handgun that can produce muzzle energy of at least 500 ft lbs, cant be semi auto and has to be a 1.4" case length or shorter. If you are a pure bow hunter IL is the best game in town, gun hunter not so much.

I moved down here from IL where you cant bow hunt during the gun season. Talk about something that would start a war around here. Like those bumper stickers about drivers, perhaps someone should make one for bow hunters that reads "As a matter of fact, I do own the woods". What's good for the goose is good for the gander. If you want to hunt during the muzzleloader season, quit complaining and go out and buy a muzzleloader and learn how to use it.

excuse me, there was no complaint in my question, i own a muzzleloader, i see no logical reason you should not be able to go down in weapon, same as during the rifle season, Then blame it on the TPWD and other wildlife agencies like them who bow to marketing departments and create special seasons that make you go out and buy a specific item if you want to participate. After all, it worked by getting you to buy a bow. Just go out and add a muzzleloader to your collection.

Not to Hijack this thread but, Dan are you a native Texan? The reason i ask is, i have been hunting here for 30 years and if im not mistaken, bow season has always been the entire month of October, so since way back when not everyone and their brother bowhunted, the season has always been the same, but you insist its all about marketing, i just dont see it.
