Ok guys the same rules apply this time but the meeting location has changed. It will be at Boyce Feed and Grain in Waxahachie. I will put the address in here so everyone can get directions. They are sponsoring it so I won't have to handle all the cash and the weigh in. Here are the details.
Ellis County Varmint Competition Date: Feb. 18th-19th 0800 Sat-1100 Sun
Location:Boyce Feed and Grain 441 S College St, Waxahachie, TX 75165
General Info: Cash only for entry fee ($50 per team). Heavy pots available for $10 each. Ten animal cap on all species. This contest will last for a total of 27 hours. 1-5 man teams no more. I am going to try and get some door prizes to draw for and will update as I get them.
10 animal cap on each species Bobcat=35pts Coyote=25pts Fox=15pts Coon=5pts
Heavy pots for Bobcat, Coyote, fox, and Coon for $10 each

Rules: No pooling of animals. No baiting an area to hunt. (If the animal has died you may hunt by the animal but can not either kill an animal and place it somewhere or move and animal after natural death.) Team members must hunt on the same piece of property but may split up and hunt as long as they remain on the same piece of property. You must only hunt on land you have permission to hunt or state required land. No shooting off of public roads. If you drive up on an animal or walk up on an animal you must come to a complete stop, squeak, call, or make some kind of noise to make that animal commit vefore pulling the trigger. By commit I mean he must stop and look at you. You may shoot raccoons out of trees as long as they are looking at you. All team members may not start hunting until the tournament begins. Only animals that have been shot during the contest hours will count for the contest. No adding weight to your animal. Must follow state rules. No trapping of animals allowed.
Game Warden will be present at weigh in time.
Payout:1st 75% 2nd 25%
Heavy Pot: 100% for each
Registration will be from 0730-0830 the morning of but your team may start hunting at 0800. No mail in.

We can do fox. The only reason I haven't is because we haven't had anyone show up with a single fox in any of the comps yet.

You can check with Boyce Feed and Grain about other comps as well. I called and talked to them today and I believe they stated there is another one on the 4th and 5th.

Yea I did and I was supposed to take them the rule sheet but got busy and didn't make it over there. I'm taking it to them first thing in the morning.

Yea we were adding a shooting rail, cargo space, and a gun rack to it. So far all we have in it is time. We have built everything out of scrap metal we had laying around. You need to holler at me when you get a day of and we can go try it out.

I ran over a bobcat the other night and Kelli and I seen a yote out there this weekend. What are you putting the rack on?
