Mine was not good either but mine is not over yet. We have until the end of February so I still have hope.

I came up empty handed, passed up two smaller deer, saw plenty of does when I couldn't shoot em and didn't see anything near 13"+. Saw several on camera. Only saw 2 or 3 hogs on camera between Oct and Jan...

This was my first time back on a lease in a long time. It wasn't a good year for deer. I killed one little spike for meat and the biggest buck I saw in person was a 3 point. Couple of 8 pointers on camera and some pigs but that's it. The drought took it's toll for sure.

About average. Didn't hunt as much as last season. Got lucky at the end of Nov and connected with a nice buck on a property I was invited to hunt on.

My son got a nice 10 point which I'm very happy about but it was one of my worst as far as my hunting. I saw only 4 deer all season while in the stand and I was in it a lot. The breakdown: a spike that busted me when I was crossbow hunting, a doe I couldn't shoot, a basket rack I couldn't shoot and a spike the next to the last day of the season that I did shoot.

Overall, I would say ours was below average. But it was more a result of our members not being able to invest enough time to prepare and hunt as much this season due to job conflicts with this poor economy.

Our was fine-maybe above average. Bow season was possibly the best ever since some mature bucks were coming to feeders, which we presume was because of the drought.

It was ok, I was only out there for two weekends though. One basket rack, one fork horn, one mature doe and one yearling doe and one 7 pointer. The 7 pointer was my first buck! smile

If it looks good, eat it.

SLow year in Houston county. Been on the same place for 6 years (MLD 3) but shy of filling our tags by 3 bucks and 8 does. Saw many deer early Oct including the best buck we've ever seen, but really shut off after 2nd weekend of NOV. During the week after Christmas, only 1 doe was seen during the daytime. YIKES!

Our year has been exactly what we thought it would be.A very good one.Your right about deer slowing down around Thanksgiveing.Thats when most of the Post Oak trees dropped there acorns.Lasted for about two weeks.Dec was very good as usual and right now deer are really comming to food plots and feeders during legal shooting hours.Bucks are large bachlor groups now. It's easy to see whats left for next year.

If it's not overkill then it's underachievement.

Saw lots of does when they couldn't be shot and a young 8 point.
No kills for me. Dad and daughter took a buck and a doe on opening day. Everything died after that.

Saw a lot of deer and got a doe and a 10 point, so it was okay for me.

I've been hunting in Houston County for well over 20 years and that's pretty much the norm. Give the deer two or three weeks to catch on that folks are after them and you'll quickly hear hunters say the deer have just disappeared.

Once the Christmas holidays roll around, you pretty much have the woods to yourself, especially during the middle of the week. And the deer seem to know it as well. I watched three bucks, two of them shooters, sparing with one another the Friday before Christmas. And the prior morning (Thursday), I watched two nice bucks walking across a pasture as if it were the middle of summer.

East Texas is pretty difficult but I want to think if your not seeing any deer you're not in the right place or doing something wrong! haha
